Quicken Deluxe 2010 (CD-ROM)

I have worked with Intuit's small business and personal software for about 4 years now.

The pros to this software:

- Online banking works smoothly
- I like the syncronization with Outlook
- Always a big fan of using the one step online banking update process
- Very consumer friendly for those unfamiliar with accounting practices
- The lifetime planner is a terrific tool for the goal oriented. Easy to use and an effective budgeting tool.
- Backup file is now condensed into a single file, instead of the backup file + groupies scenario in previous editions. Meaning: if you make a backup, you only have to move around a single file to maintain your data's integrity. I am glad to see that Intuit resolved this.

The cons:

- Horrible support. Horrible horrible horrible. Really Intuit? What were you thinking? There is not even a help database to search through, only questions that users have asked. This is just ridiculous (particlularly for the average consumer of this software).
- Horrible support. Sorry. I am just flabbergasted. Their support seems to worsen with each new edition.
- Not a big fan of the beginning balance setup. As an accountant, I cannot see the other side of the entry, which seems to leave open a large opportunity for errors.

Overall, a great software package. I am using google as my help database now (...still questionable...). For the average user, who probably will not be using all of the features I do (such as stock downloading, reconciling, etc.), this is a great package. For the techie, look elsewhere.
